Jeremy Charles Shockey -- (born August 18, 1980, in Ada, Oklahoma) is an American football tight end for the National Football League. He was selected 14th in the first round of the 2002 NFL Draft by the New York Giants for whom he played as #80 for the next six years. Jeremy Shockey was on the winning team of Super Bowl XLII in February 2008 (unfortunately he was benched for the play-offs due to injury, although he stood on the sidelines on crutches for the big game). He was traded to the New Orleans Saints in July 2008 with whom he played as #88 for three season. Shockey was once again on the winning team of Super Bowl XLIV on February 7, 2010 (unlike 2008, he played in that game). The Saints released Shockey from his contract on February 22, 2011, but he was picked up by the Carolina Panthers as a free agent quickly thereafter, where he returned to #80 for the 2011 season in support of Carolina's rookie QB Cam Newton.
Before his NFL career, he was raised in the same town as Ed The K Motley where they attended the same church, and they graduated from the same high school four years apart.
