Phoenix is Valley of the Suns

The Phoenix Suns are the most consistent sports franchise in Phoenix amongst the major four sports leagues (MLB, NFL, NHL, NBA). Although the Suns have yet to win a NBA Championship, they own the NBA's fourth-highest all-time winning percentage at 56% of its games through the 2010–11 season. The franchise has had two noteable eras of success, marked as the Charles Barkley era (1992-1997) and the Steve Nash era (2004-2010).

Located in the heart of downtown Phoenix, the Suns play most of their games from the US Airways Center (formerly known as the America West Arena). Their mascot is the highly recognizable (albeit, somewhat inexplicable) Phoenix Suns Gorilla, which even Vince McMahon has said is his favorite pro sports mascot. On March 16, 1998, the Suns Gorilla appeared on RAW, where he suffered a Tombstone at the hands of Kane.

The Phoenix Suns are the favorite NBA team of Chris Hughes, Jimmy Nova, Gary The Fish, and Calder Holbrook, as well as a perennial favorite of Psycho Andy. Even Edward Motley (whose San Antonio Spurs are their arch-rivals) has admitted to having a soft spot for the Suns.
