The Colons, the tag team of Carlito and Primo Colon, who were the WWE Tag Team Champions, defeated the Sparkling Donkeys to win the Donkeys' World Tag Team Championships and to become the first unified tag team champions. The Colons lost the tag belts to Edge and Chris Jericho a couple months later. When Edge was injured with an achilles tendon tear, Jericho replaced him with Big Show. Jericho and Big Show (known collectively as "Jeri-show") reigned as WWE Unified Tag Team Champions until December 2009.
At the first WWE TLC event, DX defeated Jeri-show in the main event TLC match to capture the WWE Unified Tag Team Championship. DX reigned for several weeks before they lost a Triple Threat Tag Team match involving CM Punk & Luke Gallows and Big Show & WWE United States champion The Miz. After winning the titles, Big Show & Miz promptly agreed that their team name would be "Show-miz." They enjoyed about three months as champions before losing the titles and splitting up.
The Hart Dynasty became the WWE Unified Tag Team Champions on April 26, 2010, before losing the belts to Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre in September. John Cena and David Otunga won the titles next, before dropping them to fellow Nexus-members Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater. Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov won the belts next, before dropping them back to Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater, now known as The Corre at WWE Elimination Chamber 2011. The following night, John Cena and The Miz won the titles, but lost them back to Gabriel and Slater later in the show. Two months later, Big Show and Kane won the titles (re-unifying their [[World Tag Team Championship team), and held on to them for a month before dropping them to David Otunga and Michael McGuillicutty of The New Nexus.
